It has been two months since I left my Skull Candy Hesh2 headphones in a box somewhere and reverted back to earphones. I can honestly say I miss them dearly however I would choose earphones for travel every time from now on. It was me more than them now that I look back on it. The struggle of putting them somewhere out of the way when not in use is what got me. My earphones are sitting next to me connected to my phone and I don’t really see them in my peripheral vision. Carrying around the headphones felt like such a fashion statement. Yes, the quality was fantastic and I use them in my production work for monitoring audio, however I don’t have the tolerance to let my headphones vice around my neck until I feel like using them.
All I want is a high quality sound system on the go without the encumbrance of a clunky pair of headphones or a tangled mess.
All I want is a high quality sound system on the go without the encumbrance of a clunky pair of headphones or a tangled mess. At home and in the studio, absolutely I’ll make that sacrifice. But I can’t sit in class with them around my neck and expect my professor to take me seriously. It gives off a sense of half-assedness when a device like that is clearly in view at semi-formal events like meetings and classes. I’ve tried putting them in my backpack only to quickly pick them up again after hearing an ominous crunch from the pile of textbooks in there. The wireless feature is a plus, but I’ve been spoiled with the mic feature on the aux cord that goes to the phone input. And I’d rather use that than stick the phone up to my ear.
