The Owner Of The Reader Appraised Some Of My Macro Photos

The local newspaper called The Reader is headquartered in my city. The paper started about 21 years ago and has gained a large amount of support from sponsors and over 30k readers around the region. The owner, Bob Boone, is the closest thing to a celebrity outside of that time I asked David Taylor to appraise my photos, but the latter is for another post.

I’ve been working closely with Bob for a month at his new theater. I am hired on as a concession man and theater tech. I’ve also read The Reader magazine more often instead of the commercial paper in town called The Duluth News Tribune. That paper doesn’t have what I want out of the news. The Reader does.

What I like is investigative journalism. The old term “Muckraking” is a fond and comfortable description of my preferred type of literary news feed. The Reader is famous for featuring local and national writers that muckrake and hold people in positions of power, accountable. Now whats this got to do with Bob and my photos? Well, put simply I was excited to meet the owner of a paper that I regularly read and I value his opinions.

So, today I cought up with Bob and poured him a drink from his very own soda fountain in his theater. A Mug Root Beer with ice and kindly asked if he could appraise my photos.

One extra note is I asked Bob because he has refreshing opinions. I hear ” nice” and “good” said way to much about art content and I hate that.

So here it is: Bob’s Appraisal of some of my macro photos:
